Mother Goose on the Loose Babytime
Come in out of the heat for a fun interactive storytime for babies 0-23 months and their parents/caregivers. Regsitration is not required, but space can be limited! This is a great activity to start your child out on a literacy path and a fun way to meet other babies!

BUILD A CRAFT
Drop-in for all ages
Our drop-in crafts are a great time for the whole family. Drop in anytime in the morning. Each week will be a different theme and crafts will be accessible to all ages!

July 10th: Zeotrope (early moving pictures)
July 17th: Fidget Spinners (design your own!)
July 24th: Building with Paper
July 31st: Paper circuits (make your pictures glow)

This half hour storytime is intended for kids 4 and up who are on the autism spectrum, have sensory processing disorders, or who just need a highly active storytime. Everyone is welcome! The program involves interactive books, rhymes, apps, songs, and always ends with bubbles. No registration is required and please contact Children’s Librarian Clare firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
TUESDAYS 9:30am – 11am : July 11th – August 15th
A great time to just play with all kinds of building supplies including blocks, Lego, magnet blocks, and more! Each week we’ll put out some favorites like Lego and wooden blocks and then have a different building challenge and supply as well. Drop in anytime between 9:30 – 11am to have some fun exploring. Ages 0 – 8 years old a great fit for this program, particularly on a rainy day!
Thursdays at 10am
Ages 6 to 10 years old can explore a traditional fairytale through engineering. Each week is separate so you can sign up for one or for all of them! We’ll tell the stories before we start to build!

Come dressed in your pjs to enjoy some stories, songs, and an activity! Recommended for ages 2 and up, but fun for the whole family. Registration is not required, but a stuffed friend is recommended! We’ll have a calming activity at the end before bedtime!

CREATE YOUR OWN COMPUTER GAME
The Rhode Island Computer Museum is coming to visit us with computers and design tools to create a game! Use Kudo to engineer a game and, if you like, do some Minecraft programming at the end. Ages 9 to 12 need to register as space is limited.
July 18th at 3:30pm
Origami with Michael LaFosse of Origamido! Learn some techniques and new folds to make some wonderful paper art. All levels are welcome to learn from this origami artist and master. Ages 8 and up and registration required as space is limited. Funded by Amesbury Youth Funding. REGISTER HERE!

LIVE ANIMALS WITH CREATURE TEACHERS
Creature Teachers is back with some awesome live animals! Once again you will see, hear, and perhaps touch animals from around the world as you learn about their strange habits, cool communities, and awesome habitats. This is best for ages 5 and up and is presented in collaboration with the Amesbury Housing Authority. Funding provided by the Friends of the Amesbury Public Library. LOCATION: Heritage Towers at 180 Main St.

SUMMER CELEBRATION WITH SCIENCETELLERS
Celebrate summer and our summer program with ice cream, games, and an awesome performance by Sciencetellers! They will take you on a trip on a pirate ship using science experiments along the way. This event is great for the whole family and includes free ice cream. Funding for this fun program provided by the Friends of the Amesbury Library and Amesbury Youth Funding!

MUSEUM OF SCIENCE ROCKETS
Build and experiment with balloon rockets in the main floor of the library! Can you get your rocket all the up to the top of the string? How can you change it? Ages 7 and up can come create and learn about rocket building from the Boston Museum of Science educators. Funded by a grant from the museum. Registration is required as we can only have limited rocket builders!
