First Signs of Autism: What to Look for, What to do, and Resources for Parents
Have you gotten a diagnosis of autism? Are you thinking your child isn’t hitting developmental milestones? Nancy Wiseman, founder of the national organization First Signs and author, will speak about what signs to look for in young children, what kind of resources are available for parents who have gotten a diagnosis, and what developmental milestones your child should be reaching. Nancy will have her books on sale and do a signing after this parent program.

How to Advocate for Your Child with Special Needs
Tim Walsh, principal of Walsh Brothers Educational Advocates and Autism Speaks Advocate, will discuss ways for parents to be strong advocates for their children within their schools and community. REGISTER HERE

Getting to Know Your Child with Special Needs
Wondering how to deal with tantrums? What’s going on in his head? What kind of a relationship should you have with your child? How do you deal with the daily life and the big picture of having a child with special needs? Julie Anne Fiore-Hauser, developmental behaviorist and founder of the Friendship Connection in Georgetown, will give pointers to parents and answer any questions you might have. This program focuses on children with autism of all ages, but also is pertinent to children with other special needs.

Behaviorist Julie Anne Fiore-Hauser will offer an hour session once a month to work on social skills for preschool and kindergarten children. All children are welcome as all can benefit, especially those diagnosed with autism. She will work with group work, pairs work, and having every day interactions.
Sessions are FREE
