Earn community service hours for school! Read through the information below to find out what you need to do to start earning credit. Please note: We cannot guarantee all hours or hours in a certain time frame. Please talk to us if you have questions.
Will I be able to volunteer immediately?
We cannot guarantee you will be able to start immediately. Sometimes we have a lot of projects and sometimes we have only a few depending on what programs we are offering. We also sometimes have a lot of volunteers already working. We will let you know the timing and availability in the email response to the form below.
What kinds of things could I do?
Some examples of tasks include the following:
Marking up collection items
Creating craft and activity bags
Cutting felt shapes
Assisting in running programs for kids over the summer
Creating artwork for displays
Do I have to be in the library to volunteer?
While most of our work is based in the library, we do have some take-home tasks, such as cutting out items and preparing certain activity bags. This work is up to the discretion of the library staff.
How do I volunteer?
Fill out the form below.
We will contact you shortly after you submit your form.
If we have space for you and available tasks, we will have you come in, fill out paperwork, and have a tester shift with a variety of activities to see what works best for you and for the library. You will get volunteer credit for this hour.
Once you have completed those steps, you will then get an email with an online sign-up for different tasks. These tasks change as we add more, so make sure you keep checking back to that form if you need more hours.
